Attractions you'll visit in this tour

Meknes

Meknes is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. It's an 11th century city that was originally built as being a military town. Meknes was the capital of Morocco during the rule of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl in the 17th century. The Sultan left an invaluable architectural heritage to the city: palaces, monumental gates, defensive walls, mosques and other amazing fortifications. Meknes is listed as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its cultural and historic value for Morocco and for the whole world.

In our tours to Meknes you'll visit some of its most important attractions such as Place El Hedim, the Medina of Meknes, the great Mosque of Meknes and others. You'll also visit the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, dating back from the 3rd century BC and being another UNESCO World Heritage Site of Morocco. Volubilis was an important outpost of the Roman Empire in the North Africa, being one of the richest cities from the area of that age. The city became later on the capital of Idris I who founded the Idrisid dynasty and the first Moroccan state. It had been abandoned in the 11th century. Beside Volubilis, you'll also visit the beautiful city of Moulay Idriss, the place of the tomb of Idris I.

Rabat

Rabat is the capital city of Morocco and is one of the four imperial cities.

It was founded in the 12th century on the Atlantic Ocean shore as a military town. During the French military occupation, the city was the main administrative center. Then, Rabat became a capital when Morocco proclaimed its independence in 1955. Beside its administrative role, being the main location of all embassies, Rabat is an important cultural and economic center in Morocco. Thus, the city is the main center for food processing industry, especially fruits and fish, and textile industry which can be noticed for its unique carpets and blankets.

Due to its modern characteristic shaped by the Western influence combined with the historical one inherited from the Arabo-Muslim past, Rabat is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. In our tours you will discover some of the most important Rabat attractions. One of them is the Hassan Tower, which was designed to be the largest minaret in the world but its construction has stopped and you'll find out why. You'll also visit the medieval Chellah necropolis with Roman ruins, the Medina of Rabat together with the beautiful Kasbah of Oudayas. Depends on the time when you visit Morocco, you may see Rabat on musical rhythms during some of its most important music festivals such as Mawazine World Music Festival and Jazz au Chellah.

Merzouga

Welcome to the largest and most beautiful dunes of Morocco!

Merzouga is a small village close to the largest sand dunes of Morocco, the Erg Chebbi dunes. The village is southeast of Morocco and is very close to the border with Algeria. The way to Merzouga passes through some of the most beautiful cities in eastern Morocco: Rissani and the oasis city of Erfoud. Erfoud was also used as a filming location for many movies due to the unique landscapes that surround the city.

Merzouga is the starting location of all the adventures to the Sahara desert. Here you'll take the camels to the desert or/and the Quad Bikes (if you add it as extra activity to your tour). In the desert you'll admire the charming sunset and sunrise over the large sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. That will be one of the best moments of your trip in Morocco and your life too. Depending on the tour, you'll sleep in traditional haimas (tents) at least one night. We ensure you'll fall in love with the beauty and the peace of the Sahara desert.

Dades Gorges – Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges

Dades is a place that everyone falls in love with. A place that impresses and strikes.

Dades Gorges is a series of gorges craved by the Dades River, a river that crosses the beautiful High Atlas Mountains range. You'll admire the amazing landscapes over gorges and mountains by passing through Dades Valley, named the Road of 1000 Kasbahs. The road starts from Ouarzazate and stretches out to the east to Tineghir oasis, passing hundreds of kasbahs and traditional Berber villages. Together with the Todgha River, Dades River also helped to carve out the Todgha Gorges, enormous limestone canyons which paint one of the most spectacular landscapes of Morocco. In Dades you'll also cross the amazing Rose Valley, a valley with fertile land where the locals plant roses every year. If you travel in May, you'll have the chance to enjoy the unique views of the blooming valley.

If you love to hike, we highly recommend you to take a Morocco hiking tour in Dades, getting to places where you can fully enjoy the beauty of the gorges and High Atlas Mountains. It's not recommended to go hiking alone if you're not a local as there is a high risk of getting lost.

Ouarzazate

Welcome to the Hollywood of Morocco.

Ouarzazate is a city with a lot to tell and show to its visitors. It's the Door of the Moroccan Sahara, being boarded by the High Atlas Mountains to the north and by Sahara desert to the south. The city was an important crossing point of the former caravan trade rout between Sahara and Morocco. Aït Benhaddou, Tifoultoute Kasbah, Taourirt Kasbah and Skoura Oasis are just some of the Ouarzazate attractions.

Ouarzazate is famous for having one of the biggest film studio in the world, Atlas Studio. The studio was the shooting location of many well known movies such as Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Gladiator, The Mummy and Alexander. Together with the nearby ksar of Aït Benhaddou which was also used as a shooting location in many films, Ouarzazate is named the Hollywood of Morocco.

You'll also be delighted by the beauty of nature that surrounds Ouarzazate: oases of palm groves and a stunning mixture of mountain and desert landscapes. If you decide to visit the city in May, you'll witness the most beautiful period of the year when the roses plantations in Draa Valley are blooming. There is also an annually festival in mid-May that is celebrating the rose crops, El-Kelaa M'Gouna Rose Festival, being a very popular festival in Morocco. Ouarzazate is nearby the festival location.

Aït Benhaddou

Aït Benhaddou is an 11th century ksar (fortified village) in the Ouarzazate province that strikes with its historic architecture. The village is an amazing evidence of the ancient architecture in the South of Morocco. That's because the ksar was built with very old techniques where the rammed earth, clay bricks, and wood were being used as main construction materials.

The ksar of Aït Benhaddou was a strategic site in the Ounila Valley along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara for a long time. The fortified village has enjoyed a high prosperity at those times until the trade expeditions stopped. Aït Benhaddou became again well know in the French colonial because of its unique appeal.

Having an important architectural value for Morocco and for the entire world, Aït Benhaddou has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. That increased the popularity of the ksar among tourists, and not only that. Aït Benhaddou was the shooting location for many famous movies and series such as Jesus of Nazareth, The Mummy, Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Thus, Aït Benhaddo became the Hollywood of Morocco together with Ouarzazate and the interest in visiting this attraction increased significantly. Beside the fortified village that's a wonderful attraction per se, you'll also find in Aït Benhaddou a mosque, a kasbah, and a caravanserai which will take you many centuries ago.

Fes

Fes is the oldest imperial city of Morocco. It was founded during the 8th-9th centuries by Idris I who also established the Kingdom of Morocco. Fes became an important cultural and educational center. It's home of the oldest university in the world still functional, the University of Al Quaraouiyine, built in 859.

Fes is a real architectural treasure. You'll be amazed by the quantity of historic buildings the city has and the way they conserved till today. You'll marvel at numerous and extremely beautiful mosques, madrassas (educational institutions), funduqs (traditional hotels) and hammams (Turkish baths). You can't miss strolling on the narrow streets of Medina. The Medina of Fes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered as being the largest pedestrian Medina in the world. The Medina can be entered through The Bab Boujloud or the "Blue Gate", a beautiful ornate gate to the old town. The "Blue Gate" is popular for being nicely replicated in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Fes is also famous for the biggest and oldest leather tannery in Morocco, Chouara Tannery, where you can witness the path of the leather to the handicrafts in the souks. In the tours including Fes in the itinerary, you'll have the chance to fully experience the city. Beside the Fes attractions already mentioned, you'll visit other emblematic places such as Mulay Idriss mausoleum, Royal Palace, Jewish quarter and more.

Casablanca

Casablanca is a curious contrast of modernity and antiquity. Its history began as being a Berber town with an important port. The name of Casablanca was offered by the Portuguese when destroyed the port and built a new city. Being bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the city has always been a strategic place not just in Morocco, but in the entire Maghreb region. Today, Casablanca is the biggest city of Morocco and the most important economic center of the country.

Casablanca is also famous for having the tallest minaret mosque in the world, the Hassan II Mosque. The mosque is a unique jewel of Morocco, having an impressive architecture done by the best craftsmen. It's one of the few mosques in Morocco that can be visited by both men and women. Other important attractions in Casablanca are the Old Medina, Ain Diab Corniche beach and the central Post Office. Our tours that have Casablanca in their itinerary, will get you to all these attractions and other interesting places worth exploring.

Marrakech

Welcome to the Red City of Morocco!

Marrakech is called the "Red City" of Morocco because of its old architecture with red walls. The city is an important cultural, religious and economic center especially in the western Morocco. It's the fourth largest city by territory in Morocco and the most popular in terms of tourism. Being close to the Sahara desert and the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is the middle of a contrasting landscape that makes it unique. Marrakech should definitely be your number 1 place to visit in Morocco.

With close to a thousand years of history, the medina of Marrakech is one of the biggest attractions, being an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking on its small streets, you'll be amazed by the peculiar architecture the medina has. Here you'll find lots of souks with local craft works that will help you sink deeper in the Moroccan culture. From mosaic ornate mosques to sophisticated palaces and gardens, Marrakech is the place that conserve authenticity and tradition.

Many of our tours include in their itinerary a visit to Marrakech. With us you'll discover the most emblematic sights of the city such as Medina, Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and much more. You'll take with you some of the best memories because We Shape Memories.
